About Paint And Draw Together (PADT)

Paint And Draw Together is a free art community dedicated to empowering people, building confidence, and promoting art and creativity. Here is the FAQ if you want a quick summary: https://www.paintanddrawtogether.com/frequently-asked-questions/

At PADT (Paint and Draw Together), artists from all over the world are invited to create art or comment based on a new composition which is posted every six weeks. Watercolors, oil paintings, pencil and ink drawings and art in mixed media – all are welcome. Everybody is encouraged to participate. Art collectors, art admirers, art patrons … all who love and enjoy art.

Art has no boundaries, and PADT encourages all to use their own voice and express their own artistic freedom while interpreting each painting subject. We all have something to learn from each other and by practising more and sharing constructive critiques, we are all winners. And we all grow and benefit from learning, sharing, and paintings and drawing together.

Our community which started as paintanddrawtogether.blogspot.com evolved into a warm-hearted group of artists who are always willing to help and encourage each other. This website is an evolution of the PADT blog (paintanddrawtogether.blogspot.com) that was founded in 2009, and has been enjoying great success for many years.

This new website is designed as an easy, self-managed, interactive, artists’ community which allows a larger number of artists to participate in painting challenges, and give back to the art community by participating and sharing constructive comments. PADT members can now upload their paintings to PADT website by themselves and comment using different social media logins they already have.

The goal is to encourage and empower PADT members to post and share their painting or drawing response to the challenge, post comments, collaborate with each other, learn, grow and have fun together. There is no middle man to wait for to post your painting or drawing. This way you can directly post your submissions yourself.

While each freedom is great, please kindly be mindful, and post only relevant content. The administrator reserves the right to remove any non-appropriate or irrelevant content.

Your help and support is much needed. Please do send your feedback – about what is working and what’s not working – to help make this a better place for everyone.

Support from like minded artists can be so encouraging and motivational for all of us.

About Me

facilitator, editor, and of course artist …

Hi! I am Lela Stankovic.

I have been painting for many years now, and have been inspired by both the great masters of the past, as well as impressionist and modern art. I am constantly exploring new elements in watercolor, oil painting and drawing, and I am always so excited when I come across new art forms or new art supplies. This is why among my most favorite destinations are the art stores, and the sight of new kinds of art supplies always fill me with excitement.

Mastery of the drawing and painting techniques really sets us free. Paradoxically, it’s easier to be spontaneous when you have mastered the basics. I truly believe that there is an artist in each of us, and a step by step approach can allow that artist from within us to come out and enjoy the process of creating. With this in mind, I wrote my book on watercolor painting to help artists learn the basics of watercolor, and take their art to the next level.

“Painting Glorious Rose Flowers in Watercolor – in 7 Stages” – by Lela Stankovic

lela stankovic art book This is a book in which I invite you to learn my painting technique which combines spontaneity with a systematic approach. In this book I have condensed years of knowledge into a slim volume, and it is not designed as the ‘ultimate, complete guide to painting’. Rather, it is written to help you learn those essential aspects of watercolor for which I couldn’t find good explanations elsewhere – e.g. deepen your observation skills, make your subjects glow with life and know when your painting is finished.

If you are interested you can check out my book at either of the following two locations:

Happy painting and drawing!
