How to Compose Painting from a Single Daisy Flower with Lela Stankovic – Step by Step for Beginners

Hi fellow artists 🙂

As an artist you paint what YOU see…. something which might exist in the real world… or it might not. You might paint it exactly as it is in the real world, or take artistic license and paint the subject as you see it.

In this video, I wanted to show you how to compose a painting without having a full or complete real-world reference. Your mind is an extremely powerful engine and if you give it a little fuel of imagination and a reference subject – you would be surprised what it can come up with. In this video, all I had was a simple basic flower. And that single flower combined with imagination produced a rich bouquet of flowers.

You can use a similar approach to add, to remove or to totally modify any portion of your reference in a similar way. And here I wanted to show you how to do it.

I hope you enjoy this video.

Happy painting!

Lela

  1. Simple and yet a beautiful composition was born. Yes, with the freehand drawing, I feel that we can develop a lot, and new motivation and joy can be given to the individual work.
